Filled with naturally organic Kapok fibre Zafu’s provide relief whilst meditating enabling better focus by tilting the pelvis forward straightening the spine! They give more surface area for you to sit on, which helps alleviate legs falling to sleep and especially assists the comfort level for larger people. Zafu’s size and shape and sloping angle has been said to be "perfect" for enhanced meditation practice. The Crescent is ideally suited to the Burmese or cross-legged position.

Breast Feeding Support Cushion:

The soft support of Kapok provides a perfect allergy free baby resting place whilst breast feeding and inner curve sits snuggly around the waist for stability. Use them also behind the head and around the neck whilst sitting in bed reading or working. The Zafu makes a perfectly useful addition to any pillow collection.

Medium packed with appx. 600g of freshly cleaned kapok inside a calico inner. Removable zipper covers are optional. Kapok has the added advantage of being malleable, soft yet supportive and it will shape to your body. Slight compaction will occur over time but Kapok will ‘Fluff up’ by being placed in direct sunlight. Over the centuries Kapok has also been used, because of its warmth, in padded suits in the artic, as life vests because of its water resistant hollow fibres, as bullet proof vests (in the days of shot guns), in sleeping bags and by jungle tribes on poison tipped arrows and darts for hunting. A wonderful lightweight organic alternative to chemically treated cotton and synthetics Kapok fibre is finer than cotton, with shorter strands making it ideal for filling yoga bolsters, cushions, doonas & mattresses.

Products made from Kapok have many advantages over their conventional counterparts. Kapok is the most environmentally friendly, economical, fair trade natural fiber fill for bolsters. Kapok fibre is lightweight & comes from the seed pods of a naturally occurring rainforest tree, is hypo-allergenic, naturally organic and contains it’s own natural anti-bacterial properties.
