MEDITATION/ YOGA PRACTICE/ SPARE MATTRESS

We are close to finalising prices for mattresses which we hope to have here in Australia by the end of 2009. We now have quantities of cleaned kapok for those of you who would like to make your own mattress to suit your individual needs. Please contact us.

Natural Kapok Mattresses Sleeping on freshly packed kapok has been likened to sleeping on air. These smaller sized, light easy to handle mattresses have been filled with luscious Kapok that is a wonderful sustainable alternative to chemically treated cotton and synthetics. Naturally organic Kapok is hypo-allergenic with its own anti-bacterial properties and comes from the seed pod of a majestic tree. Kapok is the most environmentally friendly, economical, fair trade natural fiber fill for pillows, mattresses, bolsters and doona’s. Kapok is water and moisture resistant, soft yet supportive.

The ground does not have to be tilled nor the tree felled to harvest the bounty of the majestic KAPOK as the tree produces large seed pods each year which are gathered in season, then cleaned and stored for sale to the town centers or for use in the village.

Because of the huge freight costs of shipping full size mattresses we have chosen to offer you three quarter and single size mattresses. Two of these side by side make up the same size as Queen and King size mattresses.

These mattresses are light enough to lift and carry and will benefit from being placed in direct sunlight to 'fluff' up when placed in direct sunlight. Monthly is preferable but not critical.
